Knowledge Transfer That Works: Practical Techniques For You To Thrive Through Change

Steve Trautman

Is your organization on a high growth curve with a driving need to onboard new staff quickly? Does your organization have an aging workforce leading to loss of institutional knowledge? Do you wonder how to supplement your formal training with on-the-job training? Do you want to improve your own ability to absorb new knowledge from your team? No matter where you work there are people with experience teaching people who need to learn. Everyone is part of this constant knowledge transfer, yet few people know how to do it well.

Speaker Biography

Steve Trautman is the author of the Peer Mentoring Workshop, which for 15 years has helped thousands of employees, business leaders, and managers improve how they communicate, transfer knowledge and deliver on-the-job training.

Steve's expertise in the issue of knowledge transfer was born from his years at Microsoft in the early 90s where he started out as a project manager on the early versions of Word and later founded one of the earliest training departments at Microsoft (supporting the one-third of the company shipping software). That work was the foundation for the program that Steve has since delivered for companies like Electronic Arts (EA), Boeing, Nordstrom, Nike, Intel, U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, Southern Company, Nordstrom and Food Services of America.
